When Jeff Martin - The
Blond Curly-haired Magician - visited Norway in 2006, I acquired some of
his tricks and a couple of lecture notes. Jeff's material is always
highly useful, very effective and guaranteed to please lay people. These
lecture notes offers some insight in his way of thinking.
Make sure you read the lists of content on the right.
There's a lot of useful information there.
You get both lecture notes together:
Something Old.... &
Money for nothing....
From Jeff's introduction:
Working as a full-time magician for the past 3o years has taught me many
lessons, none more important than these...
• If you can’t make your audience laugh, then leave
them guessing.
• If you can’t make them smile, ask them “why”? • If you’re so far away from your audience, too much is lost in the
translation, move closer... be accessible. • When magic no longer bring you joy, then it’s time to move on.
Fortunately, for me, that time hasn’t come yet. I LOVE what I do and I’m
grateful that people want to pay me for sharing my talents with them,
thus making their day just a wee bit brighter. Thank you for your
interest in these notes. These are “tried & true” routines that I’m
always asked to, “DO IT AGAIN, JEFF!” Most importantly, all of these
tricks tan be performed with things you probably already own, so you’re
not having to spend a lot of $$. I hope that you learn something new
that will help you to share magic with others and celebrate the art-form
that MAGIC truly is. Thanks again.

From Jeff's introduction:
USEABLE INFORMATION.
These two words are most important when trying to evaluate new ideas,
magic or otherwise. Why should one go through the trouble of learning or
acquiring something if one does not have a use for that skill or object?
This lecture is based upon the premise of useable
information. Every single trick, idea or routine contained in these
notes has been used by me in performances for the general public. Hence,
most of the tricks are NOT “magician-foolers”, but as far as the general
public is concerned, they are very strong and most of all, entertaining.
Also contained in this lecture is a segment on marketing you and your
show. It’s vitally important to know how to strengthen your talents and
grow your business so that your time spent in magic is a positive
experience.
My strengths are principally in two genres; Family/Kid’s magic and
close-up magic. I have made my sole living for the past 25 + years
performing magic and the bulk of my income is derived from these two
areas of magic.
The following pages will provide you with routines and ideas that will
help you to expand your marketability in this growing market.
